Designed for all levels of experience, Midnight Mahj Nights offers a welcoming space to learn, practice, and play mahjong in a relaxed, beautifully appointed setting. Whether you're brand new to the tiles or a seasoned player looking for consistent, engaging play, there’s a seat at the table for you.
Guests are invited to arrive at 6:30 PM to mingle, explore The Pink Turtle boutique, browse its thoughtfully curated collection of apparel, accessories, and gifts, and settle in before gameplay begins. Mahjong instruction and play will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.
Each Midnight Mahj Night features a thoughtful blend of:
Mahj 101 Lesson tables for beginners and those building confidence (beginners with no prior lesson or mahjong experience)
Guided Play tables with hands-on support and strategy tips (advanced beginners/intermediate players with prior lesson or mahjong experience)
Open Play tables for experienced players ready to dive right in (intermediate to expert players who can play independently) (must bring own 2026 National Mah Jongg League rule card)
More than just a game night, these gatherings are designed to foster connection—bring friends or come solo and leave with new ones. Expect lively tables, shared laughs, and a warm, social atmosphere that makes it easy to return week after week.

**Kindly note that mahjong is ideally played in groups of four, and tables will be arranged accordingly. If you would like to request to sit with friends, please provide the names of attendees you wish to be seated near at checkout. Every effort will be made to accommodate these requests, but we cannot guarantee it. Part of the fun of Midnight Mahj is socializing and getting to know new people, and our open events are designed to create a welcoming, community-focused experience. Same ticket types purchased in quantities of 4 (whole table) will be sat together unless otherwise requested.
**For Mahj 101 or Guided Play Lessons: Midnight Mahj reserves the right to arrange tables at its discretion. In the event that total tickets sold for Mahj 101 or Guided Play tables are not an even multiple of four, some guests may be seated two per playing position, rotated between hands, or placed at tables with fewer than four players in order to best accommodate attendance and create an enjoyable experience for all attendees. In these instances, the integrity, pacing, and quality of gameplay and instruction will remain a top priority and will not be compromised.
**For Open Play Events: Open Play tables are ideally arranged in groups of four players, however, in the event that Open Play tickets are not sold in even multiples of four, tables may be organized with fewer than four players in order to best accommodate attendance. In these instances, gameplay should proceed according to the standard rules and variations associated with 2- or 3-player American mahjong. Open Play players are expected to bring own 2026 National Mah Jongg League rule card for personal use.
**Please note that Midnight Mahj is not responsible for attendee tardiness, early departures, or no-shows that may impact table counts or player arrangements during the event. To best accommodate attendance and maintain gameplay flow, Midnight Mahj reserves the right to rearrange tables or adjust seating assignments at any time throughout the event as needed.
